Raquel Vilaça
Holds the post of Full Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Coimbra (FLUC) where she has spent her entire academic career teaching full time. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervises MA and PhD dissertations especially on Prehistory and Protohistory, her field of specialization. Her main research interests are Natural Landscape Archaeology, Cultural Processes and the Material Culture of Death, Ancient Technology and Metallurgy and Archaeometry. She has published several books and articles on these subjects. She is a member of the Archaeology Institute of which she was the director and also edited the Conímbriga Magazine. She is a researcher in the Archaeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences Research Center. She has held several management positions in the Faculty and is currently an elected member of the Scientific Board of the FLUC.
