Mark Thurner
Distinguished Professor of Anthropology, History and Humanities at FLACSO, Quito, Ecuador and Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Florida. He was a Professor of Latin American Studies at the Institute of Latin American Studies, University of London from 2014 to 2021. He is the PI of the LAGLOBAL Network and the author of “History’s Peru: The Poetics of Colonial and Postcolonial Historiography” (2011) and “From Two Republics to One Divided: Contradictions of Postcolonial Nationmaking in Andean Peru” (1997). He is also the editor of “The First Wave of Decolonization” (2019) and co-editor with Juan Pimentel of “New World Objects of Knowledge: A Cabinet of Curiosities” (2021) and with Andrés Guerrero of “After Spanish Rule: Postcolonial Predicaments of the Americas” (2003).
