Jorge Alberto dos Santos Croce Rivera
(1960) has a degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy (Lisbon) of the Catholic University of Portugal (1983), a Master degree in Philosophy in Portugal from the Faculty of Arts of the Classic University of Lisbon (1990) and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of the Azores (1999). He is currently a professor at the Department of Philosophy at the School of Social Sciences at the University of Évora. He teaches several Philosophy disciplines and in the areas of Philosophy and History of Science, Ethics of Science and Technology, Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Visual Arts. His interests have been mainly theoretical in the scope of Ontology, Epistemology and Philosophy of Science, mainly directed to the problems of truth, historicity and temporality, but they extend to various aspects of the experience of space, whether in the Theater, in Architecture and Landscape. He organized the personal archives of philosopher José Marinho (1904-75) deposited at the National Library of Portugal and is now responsible for the edition of “Obras de José Marinho”. In its first phase this edition enabled the publication of eleven titles. Rivera is currently preparing a new phase which will allow the edition of eight more volumes.
